MILESTONES! BOYS BASKETBALL Senior 6’3” Alec Check of Centennial had a nice week by scoring 35 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals in a 104-76 win over North. Alec scored a season high of 39 points against Stockdale in a 79-67 win and leads the section in scoring with a 26.2 avg. for the season. Enrique Vallecillo of Avenal scored 38 points and making 14-16 at the free-throw line with eight steals in a 58-29 win over Tranquillity. Enrique also had career high of 41 points in the season opener against Wonderful College Prep Academy. Junior Cashemin Williams of Central scored a season high of 30 points at Ridgeview in a losing effort 84-80. Cashemin came back to lead his team over host Buchanan in the Tri-River league opening game by scoring 22 points. Justin McCall as talented junior at Ridgeview had a big game by scoring 31 points in a 96-44 win over Golden Valley. Tiyus Wilson of Foothill scored a career high of 32 points with 7 steals in a 71-49 win over Highland. GIRLS BASKETBALL Sophomore Lexus Green scored a career high of 38 points against Bakersfield in a losing effort 92-63. Sophomore Makenna Allen of Firebaugh scored a career high of 30 points in the West Sierra League opener with a 52-50 win over Coalinga.
