CIF Administrative Procedure for
Reporting
Gender Bias Complaints
1. Member schools, leagues and sections are required to report complaints and inquiries to the State CIF office within ten working days of becoming aware of the situation.
2. Related organizations, agencies and individuals are urged to report any complaint or potential problems within the same time period and are notified that CIF cannot consider problems of which they are not aware.
3. When reported, all CIF Rules, State and Federal laws, will be enforced to the extent the organization has jurisdiction over the case.
4. Upon notification, the State CIF office will send a complaint.
5. The report will be mailed directly to the State CIF Office where strict confidentiality will be maintained. Details of the offense, if verified, will be public information only to the extent necessary to identify the general issue. Anonymous reports will be pursued to the limited extent possible.
6. Initiation of the investigation will begin within five working days. Cases will be reported to the Federated Council at each regular meeting until resolved. A report will be made to the State Board of Education annually.
7. The CIF appeals procedure is available to any individual complainant who is not satisfied with the results of the investigation.
8. The investigation will include, but not limited to, phone calls and written communication with all involved parties. Site visits will be conducted when needed.
Gender Equity Complaint forms may be obtained by writing the State CIF office or by contacting any CIF Section office. Please be certain to return all CIF forms directly to the State CIF office.
